Insights Discovery is an accessible colour model that, combined with a personal Insights Discovery profile, gives people a better understanding of themselves and others. It provides a solid foundation for effective collaboration and optimal functioning.
Based on the work of Carl Gustav Jung, Insights Discovery introduces the concept of psychological-or behavioural-preferences. The methodology links these preferences to a straightforward 4-colour model, allowing us to better understand our style, strengths and potential weaknesses as well as our value to the team.
The basic colours of Insights are Clear Blue, Fiery Red, Sunshine Yellow and Soft Green.
The colours provide clear insights into our behaviour and reactions, while also explaining why others react differently to the same event.
Whether you are in conversation with a colleague, employee or manager, whether one-on-one or in a group, face-to-face or virtually, it is essential to take into account the preferences of your interlocutor(s). By doing so, you can significantly improve the effectiveness of your communication, which in turn improves your personal effectiveness. Communication is not only about the content of what you say, but also how you do it - your communication style. If your style differs too much from the other person's, you risk misunderstanding each other and your message may get lost.
If you do take your conversation partner's preferences into account, you stand a much better chance of making a connection and making an impact in your conversation.
While someone’s primary colour can reveal a lot, the second, third, and lowest colours are often just as important for behaviour patterns.
Everyone uses all four Insights colours. The unique combination and intensity of these colours make us each unique.
By embracing this model, we deepen our understanding of ourselves and others, enabling us to build better relationships both at work and in our personal lives. Individually and as a team, we can benefit from these insights.
When teams explore this together, it creates a deeper connection, a greater appreciation for each other, and significantly facilitates achieving results.
Successful collaboration starts with a deeper understanding of yourself and others, along with the ability to recognize and value individual differences. When this is complemented by the capacity to harmonize and connect based on an appreciation of each person's unique qualities, it lays a strong foundation for powerful teamwork.
This principle applies not only within the team but also in external interactions, such as with clients. Effective alignment and connection with clients are at the core of smooth and productive collaboration.
All of this falls under the concept of Interpersonal Effectiveness.
Specific objectives
The success of every organization depends on the performance of its people. With Insights Discovery, you invest in the personal development and sustainable employability of your employees, providing them with the tools to improve their relationships, communicate more effectively, and collaborate better. This has a significant impact on the functioning of your organization.
The best employees, team players, and leaders are those who understand themselves well and can manage themselves effectively.
The best teams are those that understand themselves, appreciate each other, and are willing to align and connect with each other.
Insights Discovery's preferred colours are measured by an easy-to-fill online questionnaire.
This creates an individual personality profile that indicates exactly where a person's qualities and potential development points lie. Possible blind spots, value for the team, opposite type, barriers to effective communication, ... are also included in the basic report.
Depending on your goal, you can purchase more chapters, such as ‘management, management style, effective sales, ...’.
The Online Questionnaire that results in an Insights Discovery Profile is not a ‘test’. With a test you are testing something, investigating whether someone is good or less good at something. You can score high or low on it. You can pass or fail.
This does not apply to the Insights Discovery colour model. We measure psychological preferences.
How someone prefers or is easiest to communicate, learn, be managed and so on. And those preferences say nothing, but nothing about how good someone is at something.
